After graduating from the University of Vermont with a Bachelors of Science in Animal Science/Equine Science, Ashley became an employee of the Animal Rescue League of Boston. As a Shelter Agent and Adoption Counselor, she has gone through Cat in Tree rescue, Ice rescue, High angle rescue, and Large animal rescue classes. She was also deployed through the League to volunteer at the Lamar-Dixon shelter during Hurrican Katrina. (Of which she is able to take much of that experience back with her to help in SMART sheltering ops.) She also has previous experience as a barn manager, horse trainer, and Animal Control Officer for South Burlington VT.
