Fill out the registration form, and bring it to the next shelter operations meeting. You will also be asked to read and sign a Code of Conduct.

You will then be able to download or recieve a copy of the volunteer handbook.

All SMART volunteers must complete both the ICS 100 (Incident Command System, Level 100), NIMS 700 (National Incident Management System, Level 700) and Animals In Disasters training classes. Please make sure to bring a copy of your certificates to the next shelter operations meeting.

This involves a couple of hours to download the tests, read the materials and take the tests.  These courses are free and can be found at:  www.training.fema.gov/emiweb/is.

Individual teams may require additional training. The Team Leaders will let you know.

**By agreeing to fill out these forms you are agreeing to a Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) criminal background check by the State of Massachusetts.  This is to ensure member safety within the team.  At this time SMART is not conducting background checks.  All members will be notified that the team will conduct them before doing so.**

Will your animals be prepared if a disaster were to happen today?
