As stated before, Shelter
Operations encompasses all the core functions related to animal
admission (intake), care while a the shelter, and disposition (release
to owners, transfer to another shelter, or adoption.)
During a disaster, Shelter Ops will work closely with all other
SMART Teams. We will also work closely with Red Cross when called
for. All SMART Standard Operating Procedres and protocols will be
adhered to.

So as you can see, though animal experience is ideal, it is not
necessarily needed to volunteer with some aspects of SMART Shelter
Operations. Descriptions of each job and its requirements can be
